This week on the Girls on the Sideline pod, Lindsay and Whitney rave and rant about the best and worst thing that’s happened in sports. College Football week has officially started and right off the bat we have some pretty exciting first games. Granted, they weren’t as exciting as last year, but great nonetheless.

Some of the best things that happened were huge upsets and near upsets that made us look forward to unlikely rivals this season, a funny moment involving Les Miles, his mic, and a bathroom break, and we got introduced to Cam Newton’s under-the-radar brother. We’ve also seen lots of blown leads, a new record for biggest upset ever, and Jimbo Fisher’s weird look on game day.

Highlights of Today’s Episode:

  • Upsets and near upsets were surprisingly really exciting.
  • Tom Herman was too hyped and lost his first game to Maryland, an unranked Big 10 team.
  • Les Miles had a funny moment where he looks like he forgot they were taping live and had a mic on him.
  • Why some are saying Alabama is so good, they could be bad for college football.
  • Jimbo Fisher’s look on game day.
  • A record was set in college football this week by Howard University.
  • Why Cam Newton’s younger brother will be on everyone’s radar now.

This Week’s Les Miles Coach on the Hot Seat Award:

  • Kevin Sumlin for blowing a huge lead against UCLA

Lindsay’s MVP & LVP of the Week:

  • This week’s MVP award goes to ? Tennessee Garbage Can props for becoming the butt of many jokes this season.
  • This week’s LVP award goes to ? Gators, we did not recognize the team who played because they played so bad against Dallas.

Whitney MVP & LVP of the Week:

  • This week’s MVP award goes to ? JJ Watts, raised over 20 million dollars for Hurricane Harvey relief. USC Trojans’ Jake Olson is legally blind yet he was able to do the long snap and made the extra point.
  • This week’s LVP award goes to ? The ESPN – Sideline reporter who was re-enacting a scene live and ends up running into a side officiator during the game.
